Back to the Good Ole days!

Back to the good ole days! As I've said many times in the past, "I'm a cook, first and foremost". It's what I do best. In my perfect world I would go to work, put on a white shirt, grab a knife and start cooking. We took a big step closer to that perfect world when we announced that we'd be closing #2 (AKA The Yellow Rose) at the end of the month.

Our lease is up for renewal and the timing seems just right to pull the plug. The building owner wants to expand into the space, many of our employees were about to move on and we've been craving the good ole days of owning only one restaurant. I plan to take this opportunity to really see what we can do in the kitchen at #1. I may even start baking. (gulp?)

Many lessons were learned.

I am sorry to hear you are closing The Yellow Rose. One of my most memorable dinners was at the Grotto. I enjoyed the food and your company afterwards. The OMC dinner at TYR was also great. Too bad I will never get to try the Texas-style Prime Rib. My fault for being a procrastinator.

On the other hand, it is good to hear that this change is something that will make you happy. I'm sure it has been a strain to try and keep both restaurants running at their absolute peak at all times.

Racine will definitely miss you. Best of luck to both you and Patrice.

Ditto to what Dave posted. I thought it a charming restaurant but Sebastians grabbed my heart.
