My First Day

It's been awhile since I've posted. Much shit has gone down.

But this is about a new adventure. My motives are many.

I've decided to volunteer at the local "soup kitchen". Today was my first day. Now that I've had time to reflect, it was a most interesting day. Interesting enough for me to write about it.

Not sure how to lay it out.
Names will be changed to protect the innocent.

Doris: LID aka Lady in charge. 75 years old and a true Racinian, tough, old school and tireless. Who is going to mess with your grandma?

Billie: Such a nice lady. She bragged about her 57 years of marriage. The friendliest of the bunch.

Erik: Not sure what his deal is? Middle aged, capable, well groomed but casual. He seems to do most of the heavy cooking.

John: Scraggly, down to earth, hard 50's or 60's. Been around the block, low key. I get the impression he has some good stories.

Robert: Middle aged, a little flashy, a little hyper, a little weathered, a little too talkative.

Rufus: Seems to be the go to guy when you need shit. Middle aged, ethnic, quiet, under the radar.

Rachael: Youngster, early 20's, semi-rude. Thinks she's pretty. I think she has issues.

Joe: Another nice lady. Easy going, happy and welcoming.

And that's just the names I remember.

More later....

After pondering it for a few days I'm convinced this experience is going to have a big impact on my life.

If you allow it to impact you, I'm sure it will. Enjoy this journey.
